"When he was a child, his Sister accidentally poked him in the eye causing him to lose it. His Sister paid for him to study Medicine He managed to pass his army medical by memorising the letters on each row.  He went to Burma. He subsequently became Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Bootle Borough Hospital"
