‘To understand where we are today
We have to know where we have come from’
If we were to go back 800 YEARS! To the time when the City of Liverpool as we know it today was in its infancy 'The Health of The Nation' was considerably different.
In 2007 when the City Of Liverpool Celebrated its 800th Birthday the Liverpool Culture Company launched a project entitled
'The Extraordinary Journey'.
The idea behind the Project was to look at the developments in Health and Social Care associated with the City.
'THE EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY'
800 YEARS OF FIRSTS IN HEALTH AND MEDICINE
This looked at the Medical History of The City from its Birth. It included all of the Hospitals, Universities and Medical Establishments in and around this great City.
The organisers of the project set themselves a target of locating 800 firsts in Health and Medicine.
We far exceeded that target!
